· DESCRIPTION
Caldera is a small city of Chile located in the Atacama Region, Province of Copiapo in addition to natural harbor of the regional capital Copiapó located who is located about 80 kilometers.

It was founded on 20 November 1849. The creation of the Port of Caldera was due to the construction of the first rail by the newly created Copiapo Railroad Company as a result of the need for a port of embarkation for existing mineral production at the time.

From the city of Copiapo move along Route 5 north 78 km and take the road C-352 west, only 3,2 Km you will find the town of Caldera.

The main streets of the township, offering the visitor beautiful landscapes and national monuments, easily accessible and crowned with Wheelwright Avenue adjacent to the docks and the harbor, giving the visitor a spectacular view and the ability to access long walks in the coastal zone. It is also the main square, a church, the Cultural Center station, the famous rail line and port are other alternatives to visit.

BAHIA INGLESA

Famous resort located a short distance from port (6 km), through an asphalt road and in excellent condition. With a population of 135 inhabitants (2002 census), is named after the visit of the English pirate Edward Davis.
It is noted for its white sands and warm waters particularly, besides having the entire necessary infrastructure for tourists and visitors in the summer is highly popular for both domestic and foreign visitors. There are camping facilities, hotels, restaurants and holiday homes that can be leased in the same place. It is the resort of the Third Region for excellence.
GRANITE NATURE SANCTUARY ORBICULAR
Located in a readily accessible geological oddity is located 11 km from Caldera, a little north of Playa Rodillo. It is a formation of a small area, approximately 400 square meters of rocks encrusted with mineral circular granite rocks, giving a very peculiar shape.
Given the strangeness of this formation, he was declared nature sanctuary in 1981 and is protected by conservation laws that apply to such monuments.

PLAYA LA VIRGEN

Located 35 km south of English Bay and 68 Kms west of Copiapo is this beach of white sand and warm waters that has been considered the best beach in Chile. His name is because on the way to the beach there is a rock that naturally simulates the image of the Virgin Mary. This beach has services of Camping, Cabins and parking, access to the beach is only for light vehicles

DESIERTO FLORIDO

The occasional drop of rain water in the surrounding desert area of Caldera, leads the revival of seeds hidden among the dry sand and ground and with the birth of flowers transforms in what is known as “Desierto Florido” (Florid Desert) phenomenon that you may enjoy every few years.
